What does the body control module do?

I know it is the car's hub for functioning.

The body control module is sort of the central computing station of the car. It allows for the connection of all of the vehicle's sensors, switches, etc.

Its main purpose is to act as a secondary for the abs. When one fails, the other kicks in, its basic mode is to change the way the car handles in a crisis. Its located in the centric hub of the front and rear depending on the application and make and model of your car.

The "Body Control" monitors and controls things such as: Air Bags Traction Control Stabilization Control. Anti-lock Brakes. Power Locks. Power Windows. Power Hatch/Trunk And the keyless FOB if you have one (which most cars/trucks have these days.)
