It means you have a fault in your vehicles antilock brake system. Having the light on will disable the abs system.

Typically the ABS light on the dash is used to signify a problem in the anti-lock braking system. You should check the computer for codes. Apparently the ABS module is know to go bad on certain model so if the battery goes dead for no reason then it is most likely it.
