Serpentine belts should make little to no noise at all when functioning properly. If it does make noise it's usually a high pitch squalling noise.

The Serpentine belt noise sounds like a loud bird. It is very high pitched and sounds like a squeal. It sounds very unique compared to other belt noises.

If your belt is going bad alot of times it makes a high pictured squealing sound which is very hard on the ears.
