The initials, "MA" written directly after a person's name usually refers to the degree held by that person, in this case, a Masters of Arts degree.

MA after someone's name means they have earned a Master's of Arts degree. An MA is probably the most common of master's degrees and, for many fields, it is the step before PhD work. It usually takes two years, if one is in school full-time ans sometimes involves a thesis.
