What does it mean if you pass large blood clots after you have an abortion?

I had an abortion yesterday and have started to pass rather large blood clots, I am concerned that they messed up.

Moderate bleeding and some clots are normal after an abortion is completed. If the clots are larger than a quarter or continue, contact your physician.

There is more than one procedure to terminate a pregnancy. It is not uncommon for bleeding and the passing of clots afterwards. Follow your doctors orders post-operatively, which should include rest, but do call your physician if bleeding or clotting continues. If you had the procedure by professionals at a certified clinic, it is unlikely that anyone messed up.

This is can be quite normal, as long as you are not soaking a pad every 45 minutes and do not have a fever over 100 degrees there should be no reason for concern.

It is very common to pass blood clots after an abortion, it is your body expelling the baby that was aborted.

Passing blood clots after having a abortion is normal. Which can last up to 6 weeks. Passing large blood clots is not normal. I suggest seek medical attention as soon as possible.

This is probably a problem; you need to call or go back to the clinic or to your local planned parenthood.
