The color of stool is usually determined by what you eat. If you are avoiding red meat or dark food such as spinach, your stool will be lighter. It can also be an indication of liver problems, such as high bilirubin, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and other liver diseases. If this continues on a regular diet, see your doctor.

Color change is a good indication of a virus working its way out of your system. It can be mixed in with your stool as you make a bowel movement. Also it can be cause by the medicine you are taking, which may be killing the bacteria in your stool. This is caused due to lack of bismuth subsalicylate.

This change in coloration indicates a lack of bile in the stool. This is commonly due to use of anti-diarrheal medications (e.g. Pepto-Bismol) containing bismuth subsalicylate.

This could be nothing or and can be from what you ate. Sometimes the colors change when your body is fighting infection.
