Aspirin can cause bleeding and ulcers of the stomach for some users. Buffered acid has a special coating that neutralizes acid. This makes it gentler on the stomach.

Most common aspirins are very acidic and not tolerated for people with ulcers or bleeding ulcers. Buffered aspirin is made to be more neutral to the stomach and easily tolerated.

Buffered aspirin has a covering over it which protects the stomach. Taking aspirin daily without the buffering could cause stomach problems.
