We associate itching and reddened skin between the toes as athletes foot. However, the yellow color and thickening of toenails is a sign of athletes foot because athletes foot is caused by a fungual infection. Often there are small blisters that seep due to the skin being broken from the constant rubbing due to the intense itching and burning.
