A scorpion's bite is just like a snake bite in the fact that it affects your nervous system. Scorpion bites should be treated by a doctor.

Scorpion poison causes much severe pain at the site of bite and sweating. sometime systemic involvement occurs such as profuse sweating, ice cold extreamities,priapism, increase salivation, vomiting, increase blood some patients it may cause pulmonary edema. It also cause breathlessness. So it may need emergency hospital admission and hospital stay.

Scorpions or any poison will create irritation, damages or temporary or permanent damages, and may impair the activity of the body tissues. It is certainly harmful even it is in smaller quantities. It may even enter the blood stream poisoning the entire system which may even be fatal to the individual

Of the two types of scorpoin poison, one is harmless causing swelling and some numbness. The other type is a neuro toxin and can cause death. At a minimum it will cause numbness, loss of memory and other symptoms related to disruption of the nerve cells.
