When the color shift is acting up on a Magnavox television, this typically means that the red, blue and green colors are out of balance or alignment. One of the colors, may be drifting a bit, and this event may be seen with older projection televisions.

Most likely this is an older-style projection TV, and if you opened it up you'd find there's 3 different lens, one for Red, Blue and Green. These all should be aligned to match each other, but it's pretty easy for one to 'drift' off and need re-aligned.

It could be interference from a satellite box, like direct t.v or dish t.v. It could also be overheated. try turning t.v. off, unplugging it, then replugging it.

Usually this means that a magnet is too close to it. This includes speakers. If turning the set off and on doesn't help, there's not much you can do.

It means that the correct color views are in the wrong place. For instance what should be reading red or blue has shifted to yellow.
