What do you do when you first get your tongue pierced to prevent pain?

The first thing I did both times was to take some ibuprofen before hand and made sure to have a large supply of ice chips for afterwords.

Don't eat anything for the first few hours. Don't eat any solid foods (only liquids) for 24 hours. Don't smoke, don't drink any alcohol, don't drink out of straws and don't eat dairy products for an entire 3 - 7 days after your piercing (or until the pain subsides). Try ice on your tongue to relieve some of the pain.

The pain when you get your tongue pierced is inevitable but is a good treatment using oraldine. I advise you not no smoke and is good to prevent pain eating food that isn't solid

The best thing to do when you get your tongue pierced is to rinse with mouthwash after you put anything in your mouth. you can also use ambesol for pain.
