\To safely treat cats you should clip hair and bathe in a gentle shampoo and then use a sulfur dip called Lymdip. This should be done once weekly for 6-8weeks.

The recommended treatment for cats is to clip all long hair and bathe the cat with a gentle cleansing shampoo. After shampoo, a 2 to 3% lime sulfur dip is applied to the entire surface of the cat. Repeat every seven days until healed which could be 6 to 8 weeks of treatment.

You must bring your cat in to a vet who will give the cat three or four shots over the course of three or four weeks, respectively. They will not go away on their own and will result in hair loss and itchiness if ignored. Humans can catch scabies, too.

If you suspect your cat has scabies (feline mange) it is important to take the cat to the vet. Scabies is caused by a small mite which causes itching and hair loss. Clipping long hair and bathing the cat is the start. Then a dip in a lime solution should follow. Continue once a week for 6-8 weeks.

Clip the long hair from your cat and follow this with a bath in mild shampoo. You should then bathe your cat in a 2 to 3% lime sulphur dip. You can get this from your veterinary surgeon.
