Keep it fairly short, or at least make sure you start with the crucial information so people know they need to respond. 'Alimay is graduating on May 15th and we'd all really love if you could be there' is short, direct but friendly.

Let the guests know you have graduated, where you have graduated from, what time your graduation will be, and where everyone should meet. If you're planning events before and after the graduation, let potential guests know that too. Just like any invitation, keep it simple. Also, leave them with a phone number to RSVP.
