The first thing you need to do is get a good backpack. You are going to want to pack as light as possible for your trip. Make a budget and stick to it, so you can see and do everything that you want to do.

hostels are the way to go if you're going to need a place to sleep after a long day. the price of a hostel can range from 30 - 60 dollars a night, as opposed to a hotel which can be upwards of 100 dollars a night. You can also meet fellow travelers like yourself.

Get a good backback that you're able to take on an international flight and don't take the kitchen sink and a great pair of walking shoes. Take the bare essentials. Watch for cheap airfare... it's out there. Also, don't forget to to get a Eurail pass(discounts to twentysomethings). Finally, make sure you have cash.
