What do I look for in summer basketball camps?

Basketball or baseball? I would look for affinity with a college program. The assistant coaches usually make a large portion of their salary in the summer camps.

To find a good basketball camp, you have to look for one that is being given by a former NBA player. Most notable NBA players often hold such camps for young players every year. There are also many retired Hall of Famers and other notable players that hold basketball camps. There are also great camps held by former coaches.

It is definatly a hands on experience so it's just like getting a tutor for academic purposes. You don't actually want the best coach possible. You want a coach that goes well with your son. If your son does not get along with the coach it would all be a waste of money. Good Luck!

It would be important for a baseball camps program be flexible enough to work with the kids on their skill level and then enhance those skills accordingly.
