What do I do if Windows XP won't recognize my Motorola w385 cell phone USB port?

I've plugged in the USB, but the software won't install as it's supposed to. I'm getting a "device not recognized" error. Is there a way to manually install the software?

Check if you have the CD that should be included with your phone. There should be drivers there, otherwise check Motorola's website for drivers.

The first thing you need to do is try it on another port. Then disconnect it, reboot the computer and try it again.

Go to the website for the cell phone and request a driver download. Usually, the driver will install itself when you plug it in. There may also be something wrong with you usb port. Try plugging into another usb port if you have one/

Well ,if it doesn't recognize it you can search on Google the driver and then try to manualy install it. I once had the same problem and it worked like i explained before.
