You should absolutely take the dog to the vet. This could be a sign of something much more serious than the dog not wanting to eat. Maybe try switching to a different type of dog food. If that doesnt work, I would definitely take it to the vet very soon.

There is no good reason that a dog stops eating. You need to take your dog to the vet right away. S/he will x-ray your dog to rule out a blockage in the intestines. If no blockage is present, your dog will undergo other tests to determine the cause and the course of treatment.

Your best bet is to take it to a vet immediately if it doesn't start eating. Usually that's a sign of something seriously wrong.

If your dog stopped eating try offering the dog any food that he likes so long as your dog should start eating, maybe you can buy canned dog food, or chicken liver or something sweet. If your dog shows vomiting you can feed the dog sugar to counteract food poisoning.

You get it to the vet right away something is defeinitely wrong with it. And it could be any one of a thousand things thats causing it and the only way to truly kow is tot ake it to the vet they will run tests on it and find out why.

From time to time, dogs may not eat for a day or so. If this happens your dog may just feel bad or he may be upset about something. If your dog doesn't eat for more than a day or two, watch for other signs of health problems, and it is probably a good idea to see your vet.
