She's written a number of fiction books loosely based on Chinese history--"Women of the Silk" is probably one of the most popular things she's written, followed by "The Language of Threads." Other works include "Night of Many Dreams," "The Samurai's Garden," "Dreaming Water," and "The Street of a Thousand Blossoms."

"The Street of a Thousand Blossoms" (2007), set over a 30 year period in Tokyo, tells the tale of two brothers and their families, and how their country and their lives are changed by the events at Pearl Harbor. "Dreaming Water" (2002) is a story about a widowed mother, an adult daughter with Werner's Syndrome, and a best friend.

American novelist Gail Tsukiyama is the author of several books and short stories. Her works include "The Street of a Thousand Blossoms", "The Language of Threads", "Women of the Silk", and the celebrated "Dreaming Waters". Ms.Tsukiyama is now a freelance writer, book reviewer, and lecturer for San Francisco State University.
