What could have caused my Goodman Central air conditioing unit to stop working?

There are several reasons for your central air to stop working. The electrical storm could have hit the unit directly or due to the power outage your main breaker could have been burnt out and needs to be replaced.

Short cycling the compressor by the main power dropping out could have caused the breaker to trip. It is also possible, if a short cycle timer is installed, that the immediate power surge caused the timer to burn out. Contact a respected service person or the dealer for your unit in your respective area.

If your air conditioner has seemed to stop working then it may have just gone it. You will probably have to buy a whole new AC unit that could cost thousands.
