Fetal movement will vary during pregnancy. There will be times when the baby will be more active then others due to outside factors also, such as eating high sugar foods.

Excessive fetal movement can be caused by a number of things. Probably the most common would be maternal intake of sugar or caffeine. It can also be just a case of fetal personality, active fetuses often become active infants. If it becomes bothersome try limiting high sugar foods and drinks and lowering your caffeine intake.

A baby tends to move more right after you eat, especially if you have significant amounts of sugar. Caffine can also make the baby move more.

Some babies are just a bit more active than others. You could have one that kicks and wiggles all the time but in another pregnancy you could have a baby who doesn't move more than usual.

One cause could be changes in your routine. Have you been more active today and finally set down to rest? Your baby follows your body's natural rhtyms. He has his own patterns of rest and activity.
