It's not rare to suddenly find a bump on the boa. It could be any number of things ranging from a bite during feeding, mites, abscesses, or even tumors. This would be a case for a trip to the vet to be safe!

Take a closer look at the "bumps" on your boa. Are these bumps under the surface? Snakes and other reptiles coming from larger breeders or animal "farms" can be known to have ticks. Ticks burrow their heads into the reptile and begin to prey on the reptiles blood.

This could be caused by a bacteria. Make sure you clean your snake's cage properly and keep a close eye on him. Make sure there is no discoloration or irritation. If problem worsens, you may need to take him to a vet or a reptile humane society. You can find a reptile humane society by doing a simple Google search.

The bups on your boa could be subcutaneous cysts. These are small infections caused by a dirty and very moist cage.
