This might be a cold sore. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex complex. It is a virus, so there is no way to cure it completely. It is contagious.

Perhaps it's a cold sore (form of herpes), or somehow their was bruising to your lip (or an allergic reaction to something).

The bump on your lip could be a cold sore, also called a mouth sore. It is called by bacteria and the body attempts to get rid of it by covering it.

You may have bumped your lip on something causing a small bump and slight swelling. You could also have a small cold sore on your lip. If it's a cold sore it will probably get bigger before going away.

I would bet you have discovered a very small mucus cyst which are not uncommon in the place you describe. The lining of the mouth is full of little glands that produce the mucus that make the lining moist and slippery. One of these glands has become blocked, and the mucus has made a small cyst.
