What could cause a humidor moisture to be too high?

To much humidity in the air in the room where you have it, a bad seal, leaving it open to the environment.

Probably high heat, lots of rain, like the Amazon rain forest. Lol amazon. Because the humidor moisture is built up by high moisture and heat of course so you need to be careful to avoid these hazards.

it could have a blown circut in it and is drawing more power from your house wall outlet so this is causing it to work to hard which intern makes it to high, get a new one

If you are using any kind of swamp cooler then that can cause humidity to be high in the home.
