What could be wrong if my Asus laptop has a white screen?

I've powered up my Asus, and the screen is completely white- I can see no images. What could be wrong?

If it is new you should call Asus to have them fix it for you, as it is still probably under warranty.

Ah... the white screen of death. Yes, you have some problems. Most likely with your monitor or monitor connections. Take your computer to a specialist (if you want to save your data, it should be recoverable) and then see if it is worth it, to fix or buy new.

It could be a number of problems from the motherboard, to a virus, to a problem with the monitor its self. It could be everything is fine and that the computer just is not displaying anything through the monitor. If you have a system restore disc use that if you do not have information worth loosing.

If the screen is white and not black, at least you know that the light producing function works. Most likely a cable has either come loose or has a "short".
