The main cause is too much work load at the lower back and no exercise. Heavy weight lifting without practice and weak bone structure is also a problem. proper care for the lower back is very important in avoiding disc desiccation. Use of small pillow behind lower back is an effective way to provide rest to lowe back.

Anything from a traumatic injury to having a genetic pre-disposition may lead to you developing a mild disc desiccation. More often than not the exact cause remains unknown to the patient.

Disc desication is another way of saying disc degeneration, which in other words is wear and tear or arthritis. Discs are located between each bone of the spine.

Common cause is poor posture, abnormal twisting, heavy lifting, and lack of water. Water actually promotes healthy disc tissue by providing a cushy space between bones.
