One cause for an intermittent starting problem on a vehicle is fuel pressure leakdown. this is caused by either a leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator. Other things that could cause it is a failin fuel pump or a dirty fuel backflow checkvalve. Run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner on your next fillup.

Check battery terminals and clean. Tighten to 11-13 ft. lbs torque. Make sure ground and positive at starter are clean and tight. Check ground to frame as well.

reason for this may for the fuel not reaching to the combustion chamber or may be spark plug not making spark to burn the fuel.

the problem that you have may be a corroded battery cable or an over heating coil pack, it may also be a clogged fuel filter.
