I have a four year old and she is able to set the table for dinner. To keep her busy sometimes i have her pair socks. She likes to wipe the bathroom sink with ecofriendly non-toxic wipes. On the weekend she makes her bed. She is able to pick up her toys.

1. Let the child set forks and spoons next to plates at meal time. 2. The child can pick up their own toys at the end of the day and put them in a toy box or other storage containers. 3. Your child can pick up their clothes off the floor and put them in a laundry basket.

They can put their toys back in a toy box. They can put their dirty clothes in a hamper. They can put their books on a bookshelf when done reading. Basic straightening up to get rid of unnecessary clutter.

I also have a four-year old daughter. We (my wife and I) have been able to ask her to wash her hands and return things in their proper place.

I think he is a bit young for chores, but he could empty any small wastebaskets around the house or give him a duster and let him dust.

I am doing Dave Ramsey's $5 for 5 chores. I also adopted the housekeeping.aboutcom's age appropiate chores chart list. This way they learn how to help me and at the same time they earn their weekly allowance. I assignated for each kid three envelopes where they can put their money.

He's still young so have him start out by doing simple things like cleaning up after himself when he finishes playing.
