Melanin is a pigment in the skin that gives it a darker color. During the aging process, some of the cells that produce melanin die, resulting in the loss of pigment in those areas. The remaining cells sometimes over-produce melanin, resulting in brown age spots in other areas.

White spots are some of the first indicators of aging. The aging process is designed for one's return to the nothingness from which we came. Nature will start subtracting things from you..first you will lose taste buds, then your hair, then your brain cells, then those white spots will continue to spread over your entire body and poof, you're gone.
