The main cause of skin pigmentation on the face is sun exposure. Also, your diet and stress play a major role. The sun really is the main cause, however. While a specific amount of sunlight is necessary for the vitamins the sun provides, over exposure can cause pigmentation and wrinkles and will age your skin quickly.

The chemical melanin causes pigmentation on the face. People with less melanin have paler skin, and those with more melanin have darker skin. Sometimes when skin is damaged, melanin forms at different rates in different areas, which is what causes pigmentation spots.

Pigmentation may be a genetic disorder. Also, it can be caused from the sun or other methods of radiation. Avoid eating food that has hints of carbon. Apply sunscreen when you go out in the sun. To remove pigmentation, get comsetic surgery. That is the only thing that will help.
