First you need to identify a good spot to install the door. You want a wall that is not load-bearing - with a non-load bearing wall all you have to do it cut out a hole the size of your door frame. Make sure to move any wires and watch out for pipes that might get in the way.

You'll need a level to align the door vertically. An opening in a concrete wall should be two inches wider and an inch taller than the door frame. Know what's behind any wall before cutting into it. Keep in mind, that it's easier to replace a window with a door.

If you are installing a door in an existing wall. First you need to identify if the wall is load bearing or not. If it is you will need to add some temporary support before cutting out for the door. Then you will need to cut the opening a couple inches larger than your door framing needs to be.

The first thing you want to make sure that the wall is not a load barring wall. If it is not then you can cut out the size door you are wanting and frame it out. After all said and done install the door.
