Beethoven's 5th symphony, Opus 67, was written between 1804 to 1808, and was first performed in Vienna in 1808. It consists of four movements, like a typical symphony, and is composed in C-minor. It is famous for it's three note motif that opens the first movements and recurs all throughout the entire symphony.

Beethoven's 5th is a masterpiece written by one of the greatest composers of all time. Beethoven was completely deaf when he wrote it, and so technically never heard it outside of his imagination, making it even more of an accomplishment. It is a good example of a layered composition style with many intricate simultaneous harmonies.
