Turn off unit and let the ice melt away. Then check for any restrictions in air flow (dirty filter is the most common). A refrigerant leak can also cause a coil to freeze, but will require a qualified service tech to repair the leak and recharge the unit.

It is likely that thermostat is broken and is causing the system to output cold air constantly. You can get the thermostat replaced or serviced for a small fee, you could try heating the thermostat to loosen it up.

If the central air froze, that means the thermostat was set too low. The best thing to do is turn the system off and let the unit defrost overnight. You can also use a hair dryer to speed up the process.

You will need to check your temperature to make sure that you are not having a problem with an anti-freeze which is one of the most cause to make your air frozen.
