What can I do if I am being sued by the credit card company?

Depends on the sum. If they don't want much, try to settle or argue the case on your own. Get a lawyer if they want a lot of money.

You have a few options. You can fight it with a lawyer. You can pay the debt. Or you could declare bankruptcy.

Unless you are planning to file bankruptcy, offer a settlement if you can afford it. If you go bankrupt, they get nothing. They might accept a reduced offer.

If I am sue, the first thing I should do is to check whether I have really defaulted the payment or exceeded the credit limit or done something against the credit card company rules. If yes, I have to settle the dues immediately or ask for some more time to settle it. After that I should never default any payment.
