The passlock shouldn't be too difficult to fix on your own if your have experience with cars. Your local auto parts store can put you in touch with forms to order the proper parts witch is most important first step.

The passlock can only be reset by the computer at the dealership. You will have to bring proof of ownership to them along with the car and it will cost you around $40. 00 to have it reset.

Common problem with these, that the Passlock sensor fails, there for not seeing a chipped key in the ignition. Replacing the Passlock sensor, ignition key cylinder and chipped key will usually take care of most Passlock problems. And after replacing parts, then perform the simple relearn procedure.

This is something to see the dealer or a Pontiac authorized repair shop about. The PassKey system is completely computerized and therefore requires expert attention. If it is the key that is the problem that should be an easy fix, but if the locks are the problem it may get expensive.

As far as I know that problem can only be repaired by the dealership. that would be the best way that issue would get fixed that way there is no consequences if you would try nd fix it yourself abd screw it up and make things alot worse than it actualy is.

Look online on info on how to reprogram the system yourself. If your lucky it will work but typically some components will have to be replaced.
