Your Lab probably has fly bite sores on his ears. First clean the ear with hydrogen peroxzide on a clean clothe, let ears dry completely. Apply a fly ointment, which can be purchased at any pet store, to the sores to help keep the flies away and help the sores heal. Spray your yard with fly killer spray.

As a prevention take a q-tip regualrly and clean out the ear making sure not to go too deep. Because of the "floppy" ears they can get infections easily, so talk to your vet if it seems like the ears may be infected already.

Hydrogen peroxide and cotton balls to clean any sores. With sores cleaned, I found a left over bottle of Panolog anti-bacterial/anti-infection medication used for ear infection. Five drops in each ear twice a day and after a couple days all the redness and inflammation is gone.

The sores on the Labrador's ears could be from scratching his ears. He could have ear mites and needs to see a vet as soon as possible.
