Consistent ringing in the ears is often caused by over exposure to loud sounds. Wear hearing protection when close to loud sounds to lessen ringing. Stop caffeine and nicotine intake.

You have tinnitus, there is an exercise which helps get two pillows, lie backwards let head drop, turn head for thirty seconds to left then right helps clear inner ear.

Your condition is called Tinitus. Some times this symptom is related to lack of blood flow in the ear. Consult your doctor.

Please see a physician, especially if you have other symptoms, including vertigo. Two of my friends had small, benign tumors that needed to be removed; another had a bad infection.
