Since bursitis is inflammation, the next best option next to medication is resting the joint as much as possible: avoid standing for long periods, use a good mattress, use a chair that has great back support, etc. Apply ice packs and hot packs as needed to sooth the pain. Acupressure and acupuncture might be an alternative treatment for you.

You could put warm cloths on where you are hurting or you could put maybe a heating pad on the areas where the pain is. You could also get under an electric blanket and that might would help.

soak a cloth in mullein tea and apply it on the affected area. Repeat this process at regular intervals. To reduce pain and inflammation, apply ice to the affected area. To prevent stiffness, apply lobelia oil to the affected joints. Chamomile, hops, and skullcap tea promotes healing process.
