It's very much worth it. The oral surgeon can clean the teeth in a way to stop the disease and this can save your teeth.

An oral surgeon can do a deep cleaning for periodontal disease, and clean between the gums and teeth. Also he can prescribe a medicated rinse to help with the infection. Gum scraping is an option for sever cases.

They can cut your gums back and make your teeth longer. Periodontal disease is from different things that you do or don't do. Talk to them about stopping it.

all of the dentists are trained to treat the periodontal diseases. but to be specific and if you are in need of specialist treatment, it is best to see a periodontist.

No, it just requires treatment to reduce the inflammation. This is something a dentist would take care of. The oral surgeon has more to do with bone.
