Anthracnose is indicated by purple, light brown, or black spots. Phyllostica disease shows up in tan or brown spots with dark margins. Tar spot are raised black spots.

They are galls caused by an insect relative a mite. Leaves are infested with galls and blotches. The spots are caused by very small eriophyid mites. It will not affect the health of the tree. We can control it by applying formulations of carbaryl to the lower surface of the leaves. We can see better results within 10 days.

Normaly various types of spots are there in the maple tree. You have to mention atleast the shape and colour of the spots. All are fungal diseases.
