There is little that can be done as far as medicine. I hold my breath and tighten my chest muscles, bearing down on them so my ribs squeeze the heart.

Skipped beats are absolutely harmless, and are no threat to life or health. They don't mean you have heart disease now or will get it in the future. They are frightening but completely harmless. Flecainide is the most successful treatment if you have a normal echo.

Depends on how many times it has been heard by the doctor. One may be a stress test to diagnose, a holter monitor, EKG/ECG as well as testing the lungs. Diet would be factored in also. Get to a doctor if this is even a minute possibility.

Treatments may include the implantation of a pacemaker to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm. This is a surgical procedure that is performed often, and has most certainly saved many lives.

When a heart skips a beat, many times a person will be monitored for a few days to figure out the rhythm. If it's determined that the irregularity is all the time, a surgeon may recommend a pacemaker me implanted into the heart in order to shock the heart into a rhythm that is consistent and stable.
