You have to identify your target audience and your genre (factual, novel, stories etc.). Make sure your manuscript fits those parameters and is neatly typed out in double spaced text, preferably with electronic copy available. Find out editor name and address, and send your manuscript to the exact person. Send a synopsis (summary) and sample text first.

It's got to be well written, well-edited, and well-publicized. If you don't have the PR, you'll need an agent. But if you've got all that in place, you're good. You can self-publish places online. I'm in the process of doing that now for a book for a specific niche audience.

Send a manuscript to a literary agent who specialises in the book's subject area. Alternatively, pay to have the book self-published independently.

First, brainstorm ideas for your book. Ask people for ideas. Next, Start writin page by page until you're confident you're done. Next, like any writer you have to edit. Afterthat, contact a publisher to look a your book. If rejected ask your pubisher how you can improve. If accepted you say yes sign those papers and hope your book sells.

It depends on whether you self-publish or go through an established publisher. With a traditional publisher, you almost always have to have your own agent to represent you.

Write most or all of the book, make sure it is readable, then find a good literary agent, as most publishing companies do not accept unsolicited material.

First, finish writing your book. Second, get an editor or someone else to proofread it. Then go submit that to a publisher. You'll be contacted if they are interested in your work.

You should contacts literary agents and try to get representation. Agents know what different publishers are looking for; they have a lot more info than you can get anywhere else. A good agent will guide you through the process from beginning to end.

First, finish the book. Next, find an agent; the Assocation of Authors' Representatives is the place to start. Check the agents' websites to find some that represent your genre. Send a cover letter and include any other materials the agent's website requests (outline, first five pages, etc. ) Keep it up until you run out of agents.
