What are the side effects of smoking weed?

I am trying to do a paper to convince people that smoking weed or pot is not a bad thing.

Some people experience no addiction using it pleasantly without lasting effects. But many others become hopelessly addicted, at which point it overtakes their lives. If addicted, unless you totally eliminate it (Narcotics Anonymous is by far the best program) it leads to three things only: Jails, instiutions or death.

Negative - Anxiety, Paranoia, Social Dysfunction, Memory Loss, Losing your sense of self. Positives - Relaxing, harmless compared to smoking/drinking, mind expanding, self-developing, food tastes amazing and most things are funny. Consistent heavy long term use however will decrease the positives and accentuate the negatives. Source: My life.

There are very minor side effects to smoking pot. You can have short term memory problems, dry eyes, some nervous twitching and possible headaches.

A positive side effect is that it relaxes you. It affects your perception of time, which is often pleasant. Promotes a sense of wellbeing.

Side effects would be physically the same as smoking cigarettes, but also, it impairs your judgement in a big way, making it difficult to do anything which requires hand-eye coordination.

I would say it varies by person, but the normal hungry, sleepy, giggly, laid back. Way less side effects than say alcohol, which is legal.

There are really only short term side effects that include short term memory loss and dry mouth that diminish after a few hours. But pot isn't addicting like cigarettes are.
