As we both know no food that is supposed to be refrigerated should not be left out for this time period. In reference to throwing out the food, it is ultimately your decision. Any cooked meat or poultry should be refrigerated withing two hours at 40 degrees fahrenheit or below.

Treat ground turkey just like any other meat. Sanitize your work area, don't use the same cutting board you would use for vegges, wash everything the raw meat has touched with soap. Keep in fridge if your going to cook within a day or else freeze right away.

The safety precautions are the same for all ground meats. The fact of grinding the meat exposes a large amount of surface to the air. If microbes are present they will begin to multiply quickly. Treat turkey with the same care then, as hamburger. Keep it cold, cook it thoroughly.

Ground turkey can be light meat or dark meat and is ground up without the skin. It must be kept refrigerated and will keep about 3 days. Cook to 165.

Ground turkey should be handled with the same precautions as other raw meats. Wash your hands before handling it, wash all utensils, cutting boards, or bowls that come into contact with it before cooking in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher and use separate utensils for other foods. Cook ground turkey thoroughly, until no longer pink.
