The technical requirements for a marriage vary tremendously from state to state and country to country. All involve two people choosing to be married and viewing themselves as such. Some places require a license or ceremony, while some do not (so-called "common law marriages"). There must be no legal impediment to getting married (such as being siblings).

A marriage is compromise, mutual respect, patience and understanding. For a marriage to succeed there must be fostering of each others desires and ambitions, mutual support and a common goal (long nad short term). A couple must be able to communicate and convey their thoughts and needs. Accept and know that no marriage is truly always a 50-50 proposition.

Elements of a marriage consist of love, mutual respect, and simialr life goals. Marriage is a long term commitment that combines all three of these and without these the marriage will fail. Mutual respect means the two people in the relationship can get along regardless of money problems, job or social status. Life goals include having children.

The basic elements of marriage are money, skill and love. These two are most vital for the marriage. This is becasue without money love is not successful and without love the money that earned is waste. For these both, skill is needed to catch and hold. All these three would make a marriage success.
