A common effect of computer viruses is to allow malware and other things onto your computer, however alone it couldn't cause your cursor to jump around on a web page, it is the malware that the virus allowed into your system that would do that.

Computer viruses can have any number of ill(sometimes unnoticed) effects. Some can feed vital information to the creator while some can make your screen go black or delete your hard-drive.
