In general, there is only one kind of keyboard that is practically used: QWERTY. This name comes from the first line of letter keys and it describes the key layout. There are many variations, such as wireless, ergonomic, digital and backlit keyboards. They all perform the same function, but you'll find hundreds of keyboards with minor differences in features.

There are several types of computer keyboards. The most common are AT-style, PS/2, USB, and wireless. USB and wireless are quickly becoming the most common.

Their are keyboards for many earth languages. Each unique in its own way. Then we have the split keyboards and the ones that are created for proper ergonomics. They stress the importance of proper technique to avoid injury.
