What are the different styles of architectural roofing?

I love the look of architectural shingles but am worried about the added expense of having them installed.

The gable roof is your standard pitched roof. There's the flat roof. There's a shed roof which has one surface on a slant. A hipped roof has four surfaces that meet at a top edge much like a pitched roof. A gambrel rool is reminds me of barn roofs.

There are many different types of roofing available adobe is a good look but does not always hold up in humid climates. Simple tin that is lined with copper is a good alternative and can give an attractive look to most homes if done properly. I would say the most popular is simple shingle.

There are as many different styles as there are houses. You have pitched, gable, peaked, flat, inclined and sloped roofs. All bascially differ in their pitches. Pick a roof covering most suited to your climate (heat, humidity, rainfall etc).
