Animals used in testing medicines and cosmetics are essentially tortured and then killed. They are not afforded pain medications or antibiotics. They are sentenced to die from the get-go.

The biggest con of testing products on animals is that you never know what effect they will have. You may hurt the animals and even worse, you may kill them.

Its cruel to the animals. Also many unscrupulous people will steal beloved family pets and sell them to animal testing facilities. They also will pick up strays off the street for the same purpose.

Animals are killed during or after the testing. Animals only approximate what reactions the human body will have. Animals may be expensive to raise and maintain depending on the species.

While animals may be deemed soulless they still are living creatures. Another short coming with animal testing is that all animals have different body chemistry than humans which could yield inconsistent results. They also lack humans intellect which can also result in unexplainable varied results when animals think differently or not at all.

Well the pros rights off the bat are that it keeps experimentation from being used on humans. The Cons side of this is that it can be deemed inhumane to animals. However a Pro to this is that it helps us learn more about the effects of substances on creatures to prepare for human testing of products.

Animal testing can be viewed as inhumane by many protesters. The cost of housing, caring, and storing of the animal can be very expensive as well. Testing accuracy can also be affected if the animal is stressed due to captivity in the lab.

Its pretty mean. I can not imagine someone squirting shampoo in my dogs eye just to see how much it burns. I think most of these products could be tested on humans safely.

I agree with you. I hate what they are doing to animals we are animals to. I think of animal testing as the governments "legal" verision of animal testing  add a comment

It takes a longer process of finding results of the reactions since they can't really say how they feel. You just have physical evidence.

Using animals for testing has many bad points. The main one is, of course, causing pain and suffering to the animal.

The only pro is that we find out what the reactions are before people get hurt from new products. Unfortunately, some companies test more then one product on their animals at a time, thus negating the results as being conclusive. Further more, a lot f the animals are discarded as trash, rather then properly cared for.

1. Most of the tortures they put them through are not necessary, such as cosmetic animal testing. 2. You can't be 100% sure of the results, since animals & humans are not the same, ergo they won't have the exact same reactions, rendering the tests fallible. 3. Costs not efficient.

It could hurt or kill the animal. The thing with testing is that you're testing to see what the product does and it doesn't always do what you want.

Animal testing is considered to be inhumane. It is unfair to use chemicals and solutions on helpless animals. It can cause dangerous side effects and cost the animals their lives.

When products are tested on animals, it often damages the animal's overall health and well being. Products are tested on animals and not humans in case of any horrible or life-threatening side effects of the product. The animal will suffer tremendously and often live in squalid or inhumane conditions.

I say that animal testing should stop because its really cruel what people do to poor innocent animals that might also be babies . And if that was you i bet you wouldn't like anyone testing on you that is why I say that animal testing should seriously be stoped.
