Excessive sweating can be caused by hormones or could indicate something serious such as low blood pressure or low blood sugar while exertion is performed. A condition called hyperhidrosis which is very common can cause excessive sweating as well.

Excessive sweating could be a sign of diabetes. Also, if you sweat more than usual you could have a thyroid condition or other health problem. Excessive sweating could also be a side effect of a medication that you are taking. Please consult with your doctor if your problem continues.

Sweating upon exertion is normal, though if you are sweating excessively without any exertion, you may have a condition called hyperhidrosis. This is treatable, though it is a chronic condition.

The formal term for your condition - general excessive sweating - is hyperhidrosis. First, just like some people are taller or shorter, some people just happen to sweat more than others. If you have noticed a change in your own sweating patterns, however, it could be hormonal or psychological.

Excessive sweating is caused by a lack of a regulation protein in the skin. This protein is not present to limit the amount of sweat released.
