Adding plants to the tank is a good way to remove nitrates from the water. Another solution some use is by taking an old used filter from an aquarium that has already cycled and using that in the tank for a while. The used filter will already contain nitrate-reducing bacteria.

Change the water, grow some plants you have to prune them regularly, you can use chemical absorbers but they are costly and messy. Nothing works as well as water changes

The best natural removers are bleach and also ammonia. You could also use a baking soda and vinegar mixture to remove the nitrate. You can also purchase nitrate removers from home depot.

I actually think that nitrate removers are not always necessary. I usually just do frequent water changes until the balance is where it needs to be for the fish. Often the best solution is just clean water. I have always preferred to handle it this way rather than add chemicals to the tank

Live plants are an excellent nitrate remover for freshwater aquariums. Routine water changes is a way to lower the nitrates in both fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Some of the chemicals used for nitrate remover are such as Amquel+ or Prime, which is used everytime when water is changed. Changing water weekly helps to remove nitrates.
